Universe C is the primary setting for the majority of stories in the collargogglebirdhorseverse. Stories in this universe are primarily centred in and around The City, an urban area on an unnamed planet.
Universe C is depicted as roughly analogous to the real early 21st Century Earth. The City in particular depicting a post-industrial and multicultural society with significant technological advancement. There are however multiple differences between the real world Earth and Universe C's planet:
- Hundreds, if not thousands, of species have evolved to the point of sapience and sentience.
- Some fictitious and mythological species, such as winged horses, unicorns and kitsunes, exist in this universe.
- The planet is more technologically advanced than the real world; particularly in the areas of robotics and cybernetics.
- Magic exists, however it's fairly limited in application and the majority of the population is unfamiliar with it.
- Space-faring alien species exist, however are not in contact with the planet.
Timelines
Because so many individual stories take place in Universe C, many of which have irreversible or world-ending consequences, the universe is split into dozens of timelines with their own specific branching-off points. Some timelines additionally split into further, splintered timelines.
| Timeline designation | Branching point | Stories taking place in this timeline |

| C-04 | Alex becomes the submissive party to Gadget in a controlling feeder–feedee relationship. | Fifty Tonnes of Grey |
| C-05 (C-05-A through C-05-G) | A few years earlier in Universe C's timeline, university buddies Alex and Glaz participate in an experimental trial to make extra money. | The Great Temporal Taste Test |
| C-06 | Minh is an immobile, fat slob who meets Meredith when she calls to enquire about an overdue book. | Late Fees |

Unknown/undefined timeline
I haven't allocated where these go yet, but know they take place in Universe C.
